Death is not the end — it's just the beginning. From the imagination of the acclaimed Los Angeles band 

 is an enthralling two-act performance honoring the spirit of Día de los Muertos. Through mesmerizing choreography, heartfelt poetry, and a dynamic blend of original and traditional songs, La Catrina (patron saint of the dead) leads audiences on a journey through time, rhythm, and memory — encountering folkloric figures like La Llorona and La Bruja, as well as modern-day stories of love, loss, and resilience.

Blending Mexican folklore with contemporary storytelling, Las Cafeteras create a moving, colorful celebration that reminds us to cherish those who have passed and embrace the joy of remembering.

: Performances may be held at multiple venues, including the UC Merced campus and partner locations such as the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre and the Merced Multicultural Arts Center.Venues comply with ADA requirements. : UC Merced Arts reserves the right to change artists, programs, dates, and venues as necessary.In case of cancellation, ticket holders will be offered refunds or exchanges where possible.

: Attendance at events is at your own risk. UC Merced Arts, UC Merced, and The Regents of the University of California are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or lost/stolen items occurring at events, except as required by law.
